The last verse has the more meaningful message to humanity, America, etc, whereas the other verses could be more personal. I agree, everything Human is wrong, at least it is commonly seen this way. We are as horrible as we are beautiful and for all our destructive tendencies there are plenty of positive and wonderful tendencies as well. However, even our good qualities are looked down upon. You are not encouraged to have emotions for their dangerous potential, you are not encouraged to be strong, you are not encouraged to be sensitive, passionate, loving, happy, alive...essentially human. We need to remember that we are emotionally charged animals, imperfect beings, but it seems we all have amnesia. |

What really makes it hit so close to home is that I can hear it both ways: as a testimony to determination or as an ironic, heart wrenching moment of defeat. Yes, it is just as good, if not better than anything out there at the time that was getting more attention. |
