This song talks about sleeping with someone and finding a point where you miss accomplishing goals and doing things for yourself "I miss behaving". "How does one so young become so fed up with hunger?" This line to me seems like it has to do with being done with waiting for sharing intimate affection with someone. |

| My girlfriend recommended this song to me, and it applies to us. It reminds of the line we draw based on LDS church standards and being a high school couple. The closer I get to her there's something that takes me and it's something we can't control. The line that doesn't apply is when did your love go cold.. I hope it never applies actually. This song has spoke to me in so many different ways. Toby's part is about a friend that sees a dark ending with nothing after. "My lord, I'm climbing aboard, and I'm going home" seems like they want to die. "No time to lose, no time to pack. Take a step and take it back" sounds like they thought of death comfortably, then realized how afraid they were. "Like he might not forget by the morning" I think there was doubt that god would really help him in the past, but he realizes he's doing something wrong. And he's trying to tell him something. Scott's part: it sounds like he's talking to someone who has completely lost hope and wants to die. Live your life, life's short anyway. You don't want to give up on life because its overwhelming you. This person he's talking to, pushes people away. "Love that never leaves is never ever welcome back" all of this seems circuital for the person. Making the same mistakes. |
