Scissor Sisters – Sex and Violence Lyrics 12 years ago
I think he used to be a prostitute (being persuasive and "stealing all of their trade" from the other male prostitutes). He is looking back at a time when he had power over his Johns (maybe because he was into rough trade/S&M, but it could just be that he felt powerful from getting men to go with him because he was desirable).
Now, either he's just looking for hook ups or he is in a relationship, but he can't let go of the past- he still wants to be in control; still has the urge to be violent in his sexual encounters, and either his partner is sort of new to the experience or is just going along with it (the fact that they are passed out). But he wants a witness to his brutality... he needs someone that he can control.

Kinky and fantastic.

Scissor Sisters – Harder You Get Lyrics 12 years ago
Oooh, one of my favorites on this album. Love the Christian dogma references throughout... but especially enjoy the reference to the conservative "Its Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" bull$hit in the beginning. Delicious!

Definitely from the point of view of the bottom, but the best part is ultimately they have the power in this little scenario... "Stop crying like a child, you get what you want" is just such a powerful line. Basically, "you signed up for it, now give me what I want" sort of thing.

Even though I'm female, I use this in my burlesque show. Mmmm...

Scissor Sisters – Self Control Lyrics 12 years ago
I have to disagree with plottoberry - I think they are reading "A little death" as a literal death, but 99.99% sure they are referring to "a little death" in the French use of the phrase: "Le Petite Mort" which is a euphamism for an orgasm.

This song is about teaching a lover how to delay sexual gratification.

This whole album is delightfully sexual- and this is just one more example of mixing power and sex. Sure, it is mutually pleasurable to have someone with you when you come, but the real point of the song is the powerplay- the singer is teaching their lover in self control. They have the power over the situation.
