To me, it's about a girl who is closeted. She is just like everybody else - she likes the rain, she likes shopping for groceries, she enjoys riding the train - yet she is fighting a part of herself in front of others everyday to feel ordinary, but nobody ever notices, so what is the point? She is watching out for somebody like her, waiting for somebody she can love and feel complete with. But how will she ever know if she carries on fighting? She sees people "pleasantly strange" and wonders if she would also be considered pleasantly strange if she embraced who she is. But until nobody notices, she will continue to have doubts, will continue to lose sight of the sun. |
