The song alternates between a cruel relationship between a successful Bad old Man, in the entertainment industry, and an attractive (toy boy) step son. The son see's his other brother(friend in boyband?) drowning in a duck pond, and, anger makes him take a hammer to his "bad old Man"', who, having got a reaction from, and unable to walk, is now pleased. Caus now he owns the young man for life.... now the young man is at the "Bad old Man's" biddings, and hence is an open mouth in a beehive, has to be very careful of what he says, subservient. and continue to convince his fans, forcing to smile, that he's Happy, He's not happy.... With his swolen lips round his early teens, could infer either the Bad old Man doing felatio on the young gay guy, or in his dress(literal or not) the boy can't believe its the way he looks,,, Half man to his master, half god to his Idols, This boy still isn't happy... BOM drowns his STEP-Son in the mediocrity of a duck pond, not a chance this kid could swim in the ocean with sharks, the queeny old fag lets his boy(wife beater / white singlet that doesn't fit tight any more (...on his good days he wouldn't eat his greens) cut him down with razor sharp words, Made NO one talented and famous. there are probably many interpretations, mabey a line is from one song they were writing, another line from a different song... All the shit that normal people go through, that drives us to suicide... I don't think there is a specific meaning to the song, as other people have already mentioned, Chop Suey. |

The failure of parents telling each other in conversations how to raise their kids. but it is said backwards so you have to grasp the fact that the Parent listed First in every verse is listening to what the other parent wants them to do. Husband(Father) says to Wife or Mother: Tell the kids not to walk the way I do... not to hear what I say ("what dad really means is....) What they mean What they say (Dad can't understand his kids) Oh Father(Wife is frustrated because father is a hypocrite) It is not Danzig tryin to get through to all the mothers and fathers out there, directly, but implicitly. |

Satirizing The Australian way of life is TISMs trademark... Australians are known worldwide as a scattered group of crude, unhinged, descendent of convict people, only thing is we are deluded. Like America, we care very little about anything outside our country, and care only about our performance at the olympics when it comes to our view on the world stage, and we blame all our problems on immigration. In my Opinion the Song is about: Australians Ignorance and Mediocrity, Norman May was an Australian Sports commentator, known for shouting “GOLD, GOLD for Australia, GOLD" (ta wiki) during mens 4x4 100m relay swimming, and was known for not much else. Norman Mailer was an American novelist, actor, screen writer, politician... a much more successful and more accomplished person. |
