July 4th is observed as a national holiday in America as it is the day the United States became no longer a part of the British Empire. Obviously with celebration like that, there is a festive holiday, fireworks, etc. So for me, the line "heart like the fourth of July" is probably just simply saying that the person is excited and or anxious. |
