| Rodríguez – Rich Folks Hoax Lyrics | 12 years ago |

This song is awesome. Basically its the 'rich folks hoax' is the idea that money=happiness. The first verse is about a poor person wishing she had more money. The second verse is about religion selling out for the 'rich folks hoax'. The lines at the end of the first verse (Rich folks have the same jokes And they park in basic places) and second verse (Young folks share the same jokes But they meet in older places), is basically saying rich people still do the same stuff everyone else does. The Chorus where it says "So don't tell me about your success, Nor your recipes for my happiness" is saying don't tell me I need money to be happy and then the line "Those illusions you claim to have going", is just saying stop trying to convince everyone that your money has made you happy. My favorite part of this song is the line "the poor create the rich hoax And only late breast-fed fools believe it". Here hes just saying the idea money makes you happy was created by the poor, and you'd have to be a fool to believe it. |
