Mariah Carey – Petals Lyrics 9 years ago
I think the dandelion is Mariah's sister, Allison. From what I've read and seen in the media, she and Mariah have repeatedly tried to rebuild a relationship. However, Allison repeatedly goes to the media with stories to get a buck.

The 'turned on a dime' part is not only about Allison, it's also about her old friend Jennifer Colombo. Supposedly, Jennifer was part of a damaging article that came out about Mariah in the early years.

I think the little sis and little brother are Tommy's children from his first marriage. I think they were subjected, and witness to, his obsession with Mariah and her fame early in her career.

And I think, at the end of the song, the Valentine is Tommy. His stage name during his singing years was Valentine. Mariah has repeatedly said that Tommy was tender in the early phase of their love. Despite the claims of opportunism by both, I think there really was love between both of them. Ultimately, something somewhere broke down because of the fame. But it was always such a sad love story to me, I think they would have continued making such beautiful music together!

Delerium – Wisdom Lyrics 10 years ago
I always took right to this song about love experiences. As many people are, I was cheated on by a man I cared so deeply about. After I cut him out of my life, I cut that limb of me off so to speak. The drama was gone, and to me "life seemed a fair sacrifice for peace", I was also terrified of "what I might have severed".

I went out and tried to rejoin the world, but love was never like it was in the past, ever. Then someone crossed my path, someone who lit up my whole world. It turned out this person was not available, however he opened my eyes to the realization that I had "ended up too high" flying high on the ideals of love. I had "never learnt to fly" using the wings of real love, I had to come back down to reality and see love for what it really was. :) Love is not perfect, it is a real part of life.

Paul Oakenfold – Southern Sun Lyrics 12 years ago
I love this song!!!

I've always interpreted this song as a lover dealing with the pain of moving on after a significant and intense relationship. Some people just get under your skin, and it makes them hard to forget. She knows it's time to move on, but reality is like the harsh heat of the southern sun. And it's easier to remember back to that love, even for just a moment, to be comforted during the healing process. She knows that recalling those memories is like throwing her senses in, it can make her fall back in love with that person all over again. She is flying high on memories of the love they had, knowing it isn't right, but it's easier to take a break and escape, while dealing with the constant glaring truth.
