Whoops hit reply too son. I think it's about a couple and feel free to replace genders, but he is tired of her not knowing what she wants. He then decides that he is not the right one for her and wants her to go find someone else. But I'm unclear on what you're after. You give me no reason why I shouldn't say goodbye. I know what I want and suddenly it's the sound of you off to the side saying, I'm finally found. Pretty literal interpretation :) |

It's a little confusing, but "You know what you want but you get what you said that you know you've always said that you wanted instead" can be understood easily when simplified. You know what you want but you get what you've always said that you wanted instead. It would've made much more sense logically to word it that way, but it may have been purposely done in the "confusing" way just to illustrate how confusing the person is about their desires. The person says they want one thing when they really want something else. |
