| Crass – Hurry Up Garry (the Parsons Farted) Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| Great lyric. Good accompaniment to Press Darlings by the Antz. Well deserved by Bushell | |
| Adam Ant – Deutscher Girls Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
That is the sanitised version, below is the original, uncensored version. Deutscher Girls was inspired by the film The Night Porter. We'll do the tango We'll try the foxtrot I'll eat a mango You'll drink a straight scotch You know I told you You could be classy So why did you have to be so Nazi Remember the curls Of the Deutscher girls Camp 49 Way down on the Rhine I'll fill your bath with The finest champagne I'll lick your skin dry I cherish your name The stakes get higher As you dress sparsely So why did you have to be so Nazi Remember the curls Of the Deutscher girls Camp 49 Way down on the Rhine I love your blonde hair I kiss your pigtails And I could not share The scratch of your nails And though you mock me Your eyes so glassy Oh why did you have to be so Nazi I said remember the curls Of the Deutscher girls Camp 49 Way down on the Rhine |

| Adam Ant – Animals And Men Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
Another early Ant classic. With a tribute to the Futurists Adam is dealing with the kind of subject matter that sets him apart from the average punk bands of the time. With Palasechi I think Adam is referring to Aldo Palazzeschi the futurist poet. For anyone interested, before coming back in the van from Milan check out Futurist themed restaurant Lacerba. Plenty of stuff there on Marinetti, the great Umberto Boccioni etc. |

| Adam Ant – Tabletalk Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| First 2 comments both spot on. Interesting Adam put this on Dirk rather than Deutscher Girls, the original song Dirk or Nietzsche Baby as this is clearly not a send up "Producers" style of nazi chic. Like Siouxsie did with Metal Postcard on the Scream. It's almost like the pair of them attempted to make amends for previous songs etc | |
| Adam Ant – Ligotage Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Bondage! En francais... | |
| Adam Ant – Press Darlings Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Interesting take on the song. I had always assumed it was just Adam getting back at Kent/Bushell and the music press in general for their agenda against him after recording Deutscher Girls, Dirk, Puerto Rican and his so-called "nazi sympathies". More of a blast against the left wing music press than the gay music press. | |
| Adam Ant – Bright Lights Black Leather Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Best song on Manners & physique. Harks back to his first visit to Berlin in my opinion, with the original band. He said in interviews that it was the craziest place at the time. Bright lights & black leather typical of the Antz in the punk days. | |
| Adam Ant – Cartrouble Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Don't think this song is about cars at all. There is definitely a double meaning... with lyrics about having a "ride" and not requiring anything after an ice cream... I'm sure Adam's mind was on other matters! | |
| Adam Ant – Zerox Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| It's about David Bowie and his thieving ways! His name was even mentioned in the original demo version. It's about him stealing ideas for songs and image, having lots of success and becoming "the owner of the copyright". The ears to the ground bit I imagine refers to the underground punk scene which he would have had to plunder at the time of the song Zerox to remain contemporary. | |
