In the beginning it's a big thing of "I won't do this and that until you come back" and he transitions with "and it won't be long till you know my songs" which I feel like is him saying you left me because I wasn't famous enough but I will be soon "then I'll know and you'll come back" him saying you're going to come back after I'm big. He continued with this until he starts with the final 3 stanzas saying basically you're going to be begging for me and I'm not going to take you like you almost get a sense of anger and coddled rage like he truly wants her to feel what he felt. So powerful. |

| I think this song about Kate having this HUGE crush on this guy and she tries to impress him and such but she ends up embarrassing herself and she's too shy to talk to him. Eventually, she goes to a party he's at and sees he has a girlfriend and her friends try to comfort her as good friends do and she's like "oh whatever I still like him" YES. | |
