For a start it's cut it loose, not could it last. If you bought the album rather than downloading it all the lyrics are printed in the sleeve.... Anyway this song is about drugs, however is dressed up and disguised as a love song. There are so many misinterpretations I've read about it being a love song about a girl he's fancied for ages etc etc however the lyrics clearly don't back it up. He wants people to think it's a love song, and the music of the song does lend itself to that idea, however this idea "would only catch the ear of desperate". Read the lyrics. Cut it loose - weed cut up in a joint. Work the room - Passing said joint around the room. Out on the streets at night - out to buy drugs. the other line - a line of coke. nose runs ruby red - bleeding from doing coke. On the mouth of all of my friends - passing the joint around. It sounds like a love song. It is not. It is about drugs. |
