| Bad Company – Silver, Blue, and Gold Lyrics | 3 years ago |
| I think this song represents the celebration of one's own heart. When you find the one and you are capable of loving them for a lifetime....that's something to be celebrated. The sky is vast and he wants his sky. IT represents endless opportunities toward finding her...the true one. So give me the sky and I'll resume my search and find my rainbow, because I know I'm capable of loving her the way she deserves. The true winner in this world is the real lov-er that can finally end up being the real lov-ed as well. | |

| Love this song....it landed me my 1st girlfriend in high school. Listening to it...it gave me the confidence to let her know how I felt. Initially she blew me off...but I remained confident and classy while getting shot down. I told her that "though my heart is an absolute furnace of love for you...if you dont feel the same thing darlin...my work here is done". I kept it classy remained confident but totally accepted her decision. Within 2 weeks...she changed her mind. We dated for a year or so and it was awesome. Though it did not last...we parted the best of friends. Without this song...I would not have those memories and experiences of my 1st love. Awesome song! | |

I dont know if its by design...but at 1:30 of the video of this song...he's got his wedding ring on. Therefore...I agree he should "leave her alone". However...lets say he was never married. In less than 2 short years...she will be an 18 year old adult. Should we really completely deny love in that case? What if they truly are soul mates? Its a bit harsh to put the clamp on that. Instead...some sort of compromise between parents and child should be considered. At any rate....nice song. when I was a senior in HS...I fell hard for a freshman and she for me. I broke it off because I felt she was too young. Tried to win her back a year or two later but to no avail. Lesson learned....lean more toward your heart than your head. This song reminds me of her. |

| The song is a true testament of ultimate love. The kind where you love someone else more than you do your own self. Great tune! | |

One of the most beautiful but underrated songs I know. Singing nearly continuous harmony is very difficult to do but Faith Hill pulls it off effortlessly. It seems to personify the song meaning because her life was very tough...the marriage hardened and changed her. Tim just sings the melody...much easier to do when compared to harmony. It seems as though a mothers job is much tougher than a father's? Much more is expected from the mother and it generally requires more work. In this song she obviously failed in some major way. Perhaps she even gave more effort than the husband. Regardless...she came up short in the husbands eyes. If you notice...when Faith sings the harmony...it seems as though she purposefully gets a little lost with it at times. I think that that is deliberate(she is phenomenal no doubt) so as to help further express the difficulty of being the perfect wife and mother....i.e. singing continuous harmony perfectly. An amazing song! |

"And I'd go a million times around the world just to say She had been mine for a day." Seems to imply that she was nothing more than a fictional dream girl....but oh what a girl...perfect in every way. This is a really sad song. He seems to be stuck in a fantasy world where he has created this perfect dream girl. This dream girl sets the standard for any real girl he meets....and the real girls of course all fail miserably. So he ends up alone and stuck in a fantasy world. In fairness....if his dreams are super vivid it can become a nightmare in real life because you have met your soul mate....only she's not real. If you believe in the soul mate theory....there is only 1. Very sad. The sweetest dream in the world for him has all lead to a very lonely life. |

Love can be such a difficult thing to sustain through the tests of time. Love is like a line running continuously through the universe. Can you find another line that is equally parallel to yours forever? Its tough to find....as most lines will cross and that represents the eventuality of love's termination. The question is whether or not you can surpass the clash of lines in your lifetime....still tough to do. This is my favorite reo song. It reminds us that love is a 2 way street. If both oars are not in the water....despair and heartbreak surely awaits. Leaving you with the just the memories and dreams to hold on to. He/she was not quite like you had wanted him/her to be. The lines crossed too soon. |

In terms of instrumentation....the ending of this song is beyond cool. In terms of meaning...what really makes him unlucky is that he never found love before he died. For if he has ladies by the score waiting on him...he probably does not understand the emotion of love...just lust. It could be that he was very young and did not want to be tied to one woman. He died young...even more tragic. You see, he understood physical love and material wealth...but he did not yet understand emotional love...the most powerful emotion in the world. And now...he would never grow to understand it. |

| Carly Simon – That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Yes...it does sound like she is settling. I think its so much more important to strive to be happy as opposed to striving not to be unhappy. The 1920s poem the desiderata certainly teaches us that. My Dad loves that poem. My parents have been married for 54 years. My mother is now sick with stage 4 melanoma and you can see the fear...depression and sadness in my Dad's face and hear it in his voice. No...he did not settle. My Dad's grief when my Mother is gone will serve as a reminder to me...that love is real and can last. Marriage does not have to be an emotional graveyard. I certainly hope that Carly's song was not a true depiction of her life. |
