Things have changed, sure, but we're still strip mining for resources instead of continuing to take that next step. Cold, rain, and apathy are abundant when stagnation sets in. The protagonist still hasn't succumb to the fact that everyone else has given up, he maintains optimism in getting his partner out of there. But one has to wonder, is it an optimism based in him wanting to take action, or is it wishful thinking? |
