I have kind of a crazy interpretation. I think the song is about a drug addiction, but he is personifying his drug as his lover. But in order for that to be true, some of the lyrics on this site have to be wrong. I don't think he says I still lie awake in bed, I think he says I still light up in my bed. (drugs) Back to back, back to back were strung out. (drugs) He's not saying that I must be a friend, hes saying that I must be depressed. His friends think he's depressed because he's addicted to heroine, but really he just wants to be on heroine. He keeps his heroine on his nightstand, hence sleeping with his back to it. Or maybe I'm just on drugs... |
