| The lyrics in this song are fantastic. It is about Alice getting treatment for his alcoholism in an asylum b/c in the late 70's there was no differentiation between abuse and mental health. The song is a dedication to his wife about coming home from the asylum. He is afraid that he will return different and his wife won't recognize him or love him anymore. This concept carried over to his Alice persona as well; not performing completely sober until 1986. Anyone struggling with a problem should listen to this song. It is very very powerful. I drink too much myself and can take a lot, and I mean a lot, of meaning form it. I am a male and I sometimes admit I cry when I hear this song - really hits home. | |
