| The song starts off by saying how he knows the one he wants to be with is gone. The girl could've given him chances after he left her and he let her down so many times and now it is too late. She's given up and decided to move on. He realizes this and would do anything just to make things right. He'd marry her and make it up to her the rest of his life. But now she has a different dream and future in her heart and he's left dealing with the memories of her and him and even the future they could've had together.
