This song is about a relationship that has started to fail, but one person feels more for the other. There was once a lot of love in this relationship "Oh when you found that the one for you, Why have we been through what we have been through" the two have been real with each other for a long time, invested time and effort into loving each other in the past. They understood each other. She clearly believes that he still loves her, but isn't sure if he wants to stay in the relation ship any longer "Don't pretend that you don't want me, Our love ain't water under the bridge" She knows there's still love between them, however, at the same time, due to his uncertainty about them, she doesn't want to get hurt "If you're gonna let me down, let me down gently". She feels the pain of feeling unloved in this relationship "It's so cold in your wilderness" Despite this, she still wants him. She just wants this relationship to work "Have I ever asked for much? This song is by far Kelly's best hit yet. Breaking away from your sorrow and disappointments is a difficult task to undertake. Having the courage to do it is admirable. In the song she's experienced things that she does not want apart of her anymore, and she's letting them go. Nothing in life is ever easy, but if you know who you are and who you want to be, your decisions can be easier. |

It tells of a family that has gone through a difficult life and is still experiencing it, but instead of giving in and surrendering to the shear poverty of their circumstances it just fuels them to try harder to be the best that they can be. The immense strength they have to go through their hard life makes them superheroes - they try their best no matter what. |

Great song, Manic Monday speaks to everyone. When you've had a great weekend that's gone as quickly as it came. Dealing with the stress of the new week and trying to get to work on time. It seems like the weekend's been partied away, but I think its the only way we can truly enjoy our lives, seizing every moment. You can't work for 40 years and then decide to have fun and be spontaneous. You've got to find a way to fit it all together :) Its a good upbeat tune. Well done to The Bangles! |

Konstantine. Its an incredibly powerful and intense song about love and hope. There's no question that he loves her, and she loves him back. He would do anything for her, she's always in his plans "Its always you in my big dreams" however where he fits into her plans isn't that clear to him "And I don't understand all the things you've seen But I'm slipping in between You and your big dreams" There has been problems in the relationship "all the hell I put you through" and perhaps its the reason they didn't work out. Konstantine is that one person that you'll love forever, whether they've hurt you in the past and you've moved on or they're still a big part of your life. No matter who you're with and how far you've come, that person will always be a constant in your life. |

The song is clearer than most Augustana songs but the message still shines as bright. He's in love with a girl who's marrying the wrong man. This decision if hers is seen as a mistake, she isn't marrying because she truly loves the man, she only thinks that she does, that she's making the right choice. Rest, shame and love is precisely what she needs to see the reality of it because she appears to be headstrong. Sometimes we need to take a step back, take our time and really think about what we want and why we want it. |

I think part of what makes this song so special is that it really speaks to everyone. We've all felt like running away from our usual lives at some point or the other, fearing things have gotten so bad escaping seems like the only helpful option. Feelings of loneliness and desperation echo through this song. California seems to be the place where it all went wrong for this girl for too long and now its time to 'leave it all behind". Starting over is never easy, but seems better than sticking it out in a place where all hope and happiness has been eternally lost. Boston will always be a special song to me. |

This song speaks to me on such a personal level, it emphasises that it won't always be smooth sailing when it comes to love and life. He made mistakes, that left him feeling depressed and disappointed in himself. He acknowledges those mistakes and has the faith and hope that he can get his life back on track. Even if it seems unlikely, we always have a chance and a choice. He had the strength to continue fighting for what he lost and isn't giving up. |
