You'll be thy witness refers to the idea that the person the singer is dictating to will confess their sins to themselves. Also, I believe from the research I conducted thus far that PATDLOVER1212 is right. The song "I Constantly Thank God for Esteban" is a direct reference to the 2004 Wes Anderson film, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, which starred Bill Murray. It could also be about people following music 'religiously' and the difference between stage appearance and actual life. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. |
