Also why would the son feel HIS soul is gone. He would embrace having a soul that his father didn't possess. No way the third verse is the son. I would have to hear Brad Arnold say that himself and not read it hear. Everything on the internet ISNT true. |

If the third verse was the son, then why does he say the devil got inside him? He didn't rape anyone. Why does he say he's crazy? He's not the crazy one. What must he end? Just his drinking problem? Don't think so. No one or nothing can take this away is the damned guy saying what he's done can never be undone but he can stop it and make sure it never happens again. I think the third verse is still the damned guy. |

If you look up the word throw it means many different things. I think everyone is thinking to literal about throwing the gun and whiskey away. Throw can also mean to commit. Its obviously the same guy who beat her who has the daughter also cause all that is in the same sentence. I think he threw the whiskey down his throat and threw the gun to his head.
"I won't let this happen again, Never again" "I am not my father's son" meanin he was raised better than that. He's not the son is father raised him to be. If he kills himself it will never happen again. I think he didn't realize at first about the girl only bein 17 till his own daughter went through his head. |

Very good interpretations, but no one is addressing the part where it says "I swear I didn't want to and I swear I didn't know. That things like this could to a seventeen year old" Who is saying that? It's obviously not the prostitute or the man. |
