While I agree that it's somewhat out of place on the album. I love this song and I'm glad he did it in this style and not with Crazy Horse. It would have been clunkier and less unique. I still remember the first time I heard this song. I was in Junior High and visiting relatives in California over the Christmas break and we went to see my older Cousin Karen in San Louis Obispo, she was tall and thin and blond with a horse grazing in the front yard. We walked in and Motorcycle Mama was playing, I'd heard Live Rust, Rust Never Sleeps and After the Gold Rush, but none of it sounded that funky. I bought the album hoping it was all that funky and was let down that the rest of the Album wasn't more like it... |
