I think this song is about a guy who loves a girl.I think he finally confessed his love for her, but it wasn't something he was used to doing. As if this girl was his first love. And when he finally confessed he felt exposed. I think he was used to flirting around and not taking love very seriously until he met her. I think he used to walking alone and never having a long term lover. I think at the beginning he hated hiding from her how he truly felt. I think his soul being exposed means he's falling in love with her. I think he's scared because he's never felt this way before about anyone, he's used to putting up these walls and not letting anyone ever enter them.
