| This makes me think of Katniss in book 3 of the Hunger Games trilogy. She's angry and bitter and out for revenge. She has been traumatized and driven almost mad by her two sessions in the arena, and I always thought that the devil were referancing some form of madness. At the end, she really doesn't care whether she lives or dies, as long as she takes President Snow down with her. | |

| This just makes me think of Thor and Loki. The way Loki sank into madness, and Thor had to watch. Chris Hensworth was so good at showing the pain Thor felt as his brother slipped further and further away from him, losing all his humanity in a downward spiral to insanity. | |

To me, this is about the Doctor (11th incarnation) and River Song. For those who don't know, the Doctor and River are both time travellers, and they meet in the opposite order. The first time the Doctor meets River is on the day she dies saving him, but she has already lived her whole life and had a full-on relationship with him. Afterwards, he meets her again more often, and begins to find out more about her, and to love her back. From River's point of view, when she first meets the Doctor, he knows everything about her. She develops a great love for him, even though she knows that every time they meet 'I know him a little bit more, and he knows me a little bit less'. In addition, the Doctor has to cope with the fact that he has already seen her die, and he can't do anything to save her. Added to this, River was trained as a weapon to kill the Doctor. To be with him, she had to override all the programming she has had since she was a baby. But despite all these complications, they love each other so, so deeply. River tears reality apart to save him, and he 'saves' her to the largest computer in the Universe to stop her ever dying. They would do anything for each other. |
