| Nickelback – Gotta Be Somebody Lyrics | 9 years ago |
What a powerful ballad this is! Ripper song. As stated by others, it's quite literally about finding your one true life-partner. That life on your own is tough and hard to deal with at times but by finding your soulmate or your life partner, it can make coping with life and dealing with things so much easier. And even more importantly, the use of the term 'diamond in the rough' is a clever one, because it means that just when you think you're down and out for the count, that diamond will shine through for you and surprise you when you least expect it in the form of a soulmate. |

| R. City – Locked Away Lyrics | 9 years ago |
The song is about the ultimate bond between two people and the struggles life can throw that threatens to tear them apart. The video clip shows two instances. One is where the husband is struggling to pay the bills and the wife becomes irritated and aggrieved and wants answers. But in the end, they tough it out and stick together. The second instance is a young family that has the dad serving his country overseas and is away constantly. The wife and daughter are struggling to cope without him around and wonder what life would be like if he didn't come back. So basically, the song lyrics themselves and both instances shown in the video clip are all about overcoming any adversity thrown at you as a couple or as two people and the struggles they go through to cope and get by. |

| Nickelback – Edge Of A Revolution Lyrics | 10 years ago |

I agree with a prior comment about this being a big FU to those that have slated Nickelback in a rather derogatory fashion in the past. However, I also think this song's message is one hell of a political statement. |

| Nickelback – Trying Not to Love You Lyrics | 10 years ago |
The lyrics certainly suggest that it's about a partner who is trying to forget an ex but no matter what they do, what they say, where they go, etc., they're always reminded of this person and it only makes them want that person back even more, even if the other doesn't. The person wants to give it another crack and will go to extreme lengths to do so, but the other is not as confident and is reluctant to get involved once more. And it's another quality Nickelback song, too. |

| James Blunt – When I Find Love Again Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Quite a simple premise. He knows that he wasn't the man he should have been when he was with her in the past and that the mistakes cost him what he had. And he wants her back and to do so, he knows he has to be a better person, a better man and be better in relationships. Additionally and interestingly, parts of the song suggest that he knows he has to be a better person within relationships and love with anyone and not necessarily his previous flame. |

| Fleetwood Mac – Go Your Own Way Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Is it an angry song or rather, the complete opposite? There's two sides to the coin in this one. The song itself and the way it's sung suggests there is some bitterness there and that's expected. Buckingham & Nicks were basically two peas in a pod before they split due to irreconcilable differences. But in light of it all, they didn't hate, they didn't pout or frown or get angry. They just got on with what they do best and that is making brilliant music. To make a song like this let alone an entire album when your entire band is going through absolute turmoil and personal issues of their own from every angle, shows just how tenacious they were and how committed they were to the music. It shows how much they loved the industry, how much they loved the music and how much they loved each other, even if things were on a downward spiral across the board. Can this song be seen as a passive break-up? Of course it can. We know that Buckingham and Nicks were an item and went everywhere together and whilst Lindsay may have take it harder than Stevie, he was still very much in love with her and to me, the song illustrates that despite his feelings and despite what happened, he was wishing Stevie nothing but the best as they both moved on from each other and became single people. Ultimately, they all got what they wanted out of life as a band and as individual people and the experiences made them the people they are today. If none of that turmoil occurred, these songs wouldn't be as amazing as they are. |

| Christina Perri – Jar of Hearts Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Emotions galore this one. They've split in what seems like tough circumstances and he wants her back more than anything. Despite all the things he's doing to try and get her back, she doesn't want that to be the case. She cannot forgive him for the things he has done. He persists and tries to look everywhere and asks everyone he knows where she might be, hoping that they can rekindle what they had. But despite all that, she won't have a bar of it and can't get over the fact he ruined something special between them. She's passionate about the fact that she doesn't want him back in her life. He promised one thing but did the complete opposite. Despite his efforts to try and make amends, she cannot take him back. |

| Nickelback – What Are You Waiting For? Lyrics | 10 years ago |
The simple meaning of this song is that if you really want something, don't sit around and wait. Go for it, grab it & achieve your dreams. |
| A Great Big World – Already Home Lyrics | 11 years ago |
This is the sort of song that can have a few meanings but I think the primary one to take out of it - at least the one that I take out of it - is that irregardless of where life's relationships take you, no matter what, you always have the person that loves you waiting at home for you. That no matter where you have to travel, no matter the distance you may be from the person you love for whatever reason, there's always a way to ensure you're there for the person in other ways. It boils down to the simple fact that if you're willing to put in the hard yards and invest in a relationship wholeheartedly, distance means nothing. Whether that distance is long-term or short-term, it doesn't matter. Essentially, the idea that you have a desire to make it succeed and last and cherish the moments you have when you are together, make the suspense and waiting that much more worthwhile. Nice little song. |

| R. Kelly – I Believe I Can Fly Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Self-explanatory, is it not? The song is about aspiring to be the best person you can be and that means not shelving or giving up on your dreams and goals. If you put your mind to it, you can do anything. |

| Darius Rucker – This Lyrics | 12 years ago |
To start off, it's a great song. It's actually got some important messages. The gist of it is that in order to reach the ultimate goal in your life - that is, a family and the job that you're seeking - you have to experience heartbreak, heartache, humiliation, being fired, having doors closed in your face and everything else related to that - you have to have bad experiences. This line sums it up: "Every step that I didn't take, every chance I did or I didn't take. All the nights I went too far, all the girls that broke my heart. All the doors I had to close, all the things I knew but I didn't know. Thank God for all I missed, because it led me into this." It typifies the definition and true meaning of the song. Every experience makes you a stronger person, a better person and a person that can deal with similar situations better. |

| The Calling – Wherever You Will Go Lyrics | 12 years ago |
The beauty about this song is that it can have several different meanings. 1) That no matter what, he'll follow a partner or a family member to the ends of the Earth to ensure that they're safe and help when they need it most. 2) That he'll do what is required to ensure that the person knows how he feels and how it's affecting him. He knows that the person is all he wants and will go with them everywhere. More meanings than the two above as well. |

| Creedence Clearwater Revival – Down On The Corner Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Those asking what the song is about - it refers to the times the band used to play on the streets to cheer people up and ask for nickels. Agreed with previous comments as well - a great Creedence song. |

| Imagine Dragons – Demons Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I actually find this one interesting. And I'll preface this by saying that the song is perhaps one of the best I've heard in the modern era. I agree with a lot of sentiments here and my thoughts are quite closely aligned to them. The song suggests that we as individuals all have some sort of internal demon that we're forced to deal with at some point - whatever that might be - and that although at some point it might appear that we have overcome it, the demon is hiding in there for good, somewhere deep inside. That the demon inside of us can be one that individuals hide on purpose and choose not to tell anyone. Only when they seek help or guidance and let others in, do others then understand what they're going through and how they feel. Ultimately, the song is about trying to hide something deep down and not tell anyone - the demon - but knowing that eventually, you will have to do so. All in all, a great song and some great views on what it means to different individuals. |

| John Legend – All Of Me Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This song epitomises what it means to be in love. The entire song points out that no matter what, he'll never see flaws with the girl that she loves - that is, her 'perfect imperfections' - as to him, he knows that he'll be in love with her no matter what. That no matter what happens, how she's feeling or what she's doing, that he'll always be there and always see her in the best possible light. 'All of me loves all of you' - he highlights that he loves everything about her and that it'll never change. 'You're my end and my beginning' - he can't see or imagine his life without her in any way, shape or form. Brilliant song! |

| Tom Petty – Learning to Fly Lyrics | 12 years ago |

What a fantastic song. That despite the hardships one might face, despite the obstacles you may come across and despite the crap that life throws at you, that no matter what, you can and will bounce back with determination and with a vengeance. Very uplifting when you think about it. |

| Boston – More Than A Feeling Lyrics | 12 years ago |

What a voice! Just when you think to yourself, 'surely Delp can't go any higher?', he does. Incredible voice, incredible song and a purely awesome band. |

| Mat Kearney – Sooner or Later Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Essentially, this is about never giving up on your dream, whatever it might be. Waiting for a phone call, waiting for opportunity, waiting for that chance. Taking the highs of it all but having to put up with the lows. It's all about the struggle, heartache and ultimate rejoice when it comes to achieving your dreams and goals. Though once you get to the chorus, all is good and after your tireless efforts in attempting to achieving your dream or goal, you've done it. You've reached it. |

| 1927 – If I Could Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Simple meaning, really, but a good one. Basically highlighting that a girl he either wants to be with or is currently with, and he's professing his love for her and the lengths he'll go to in order to show her just how much she loves her. Or vice versa, whichever. Great song, though. |

| The Proclaimers – I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) Lyrics | 12 years ago |

This song is random, but that's the beauty of it. It draws you in. Every time I hear it (I knew of the song before I watched the show), it now reminds me of How I Met Your Mother. |

| Savage Garden – Truly Madly Deeply Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Without a doubt my favourite song from Savage Garden. The whole song is fantastic to listen to. It's the sort of song that has moments you share with that special someone. Just sums up everything about a relationship and what you'll do to be with that person. |

Pure harmony by the Boyz II Men crew. Great song. |

| Passenger – Let Her Go Lyrics | 12 years ago |
The song's about reminiscing on what one had but has since lost - in this case, he's pondering and singing about someone that he lost for whatever reason and has realised that since she's left, he's starting to miss having her around to do all the things they used to do. He knows now that it was the wrong decision and that inside, he doesn't feel the same as he did before. He knows he regrets it because he sees her when he goes to sleep and that when he does certain things, it reminds him of her. |

| Nickelback – I'd Come For You Lyrics | 12 years ago |
The bond between two people (any two people), is one that can never be broken. In the film clip, it's the bond between father and daughter, with the father going to whatever lengths he has to in order to protect his daughter whenever he has to. |
| Simple Plan – Jet Lag (feat. Natasha Bedingfield) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
The film clip basically sums up what the lyrics are about. It's about two people who are miles apart from each other due to one's commitments, but the two cannot wait to see each other again. In the meantime, they have to cope with calling at different times and at different times around the world, all whilst counting down the days before one's return to the other. Quite a good song, too. |

| Queen – Don't Stop Me Now Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Freddy was certainly known for his obscure song lyrics, yet somehow, no matter what, he and the band always pulled them off. Regardless of the song's meaning, whether it was/is about sex or masturbation, it takes you on one hell of a journey. 'I'm a rocketship on my way to Mars, on a collision course. I am a satellite, I'm out of control.' It's just a really, really fun song. Well and truly a great journey when you listen to it. |
| Johnny Cash – Hurt (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
When you watch the film clip, acting as a montage for Cash's illustrious career, it puts the song and the meaning he wants to put forth into perspective. As he reflects on his magnificent career, he has aspects of his life and career that he knows weren't as rosy as they could have been and he knows that whatever bridges he crossed and whoever he upset in any way, he can't get that back. As a result, he regrets that experience. On the flip side, when he says 'What have I become?', I believe it can also signify a message to his fans and the general population, as means of asking them to reflect on his life and career as a whole and decide for them just who he has become as a person. The fact he made this song in such a short amount of time, was just incredible. Right before his death, too. |
| Nickelback – When We Stand Together Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This song is tremendous (I like it for what it's worth) if only for the message it preaches. The song is about doing whatever we can both as individuals and as a world community to help the fight against world poverty, hunger and starvation. 'How can we fall asleep at night, when something's clearly wrong.' Sums it up all well. We can see that the problems in the world are rife in this regard, yet those that have the power to alter it or at least aid it in some form, choose to ignore it at every possible turn. 'We must stand together.' This sums up the efforts that we can all put in. That we, as an entire community around the world can stand together as one and do our bit to ensure the fight for poverty continues and that everyone has access to the same privileges. |
| Blink-182 – Aliens Exist Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This song gives off the impression that Tom himself has had some sort of experience with Aliens, whatever it may be. 'I'm not like you guys' - suggests that the apparent experience of his exposure to Aliens has changed him in a way that makes him different. 'I got an injection, a fear from the abduction, my best friend thinks I'm just telling lies' - No one believes him when he talks about the experience, one that saw him injected with something & one that had him scared about being taken elsewhere. Sure, the imagery of the song might be fake, but should it be real, I think that's pretty much what it's getting at. |
| Richard Marx – Right Here Waiting Lyrics | 12 years ago |
When I listen to this song, one of my absolute favourites of all-time, the meaning is quite simple. To me, it specifies that no matter where a person you love goes in life, no matter how often you talk to them - whether it's all the time or as little as possible for whatever reason - it signifies that no matter what the circumstances are, that you're always going to be waiting for that person that you believe will change your life. The song epitomises what it means to go to whatever lengths you have to, just to have that one person you truly love come to you and that you'll wait around forever. It's a fantastic song, and one I'm sure we can all relate to. |
