Imagine Dragons – Radioactive Lyrics 12 years ago
I'm waking up to ash and dust,
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust,
I'm breathing in, the chemicals.
I'm breaking in, shaping up, checking out on the prison bus.
This is it, the apocalypse, whoa.

The song starts out as someone who just woke up and realizes he is free. He's probably someone who committed a crime.

He waking up to ash and dust which basically means a war or some tragic event just occurred and you can feel the tension still hanging around.

He's this monster that was held in captivity and is allowed to roam free by total chance and he's breathing in chemicals like they are air.

He finally realizes this is it the apocalypse and he's breaking out the first chance he gets.

I raise my flags, don my clothes,
It's a revolution I suppose.
We'll paint it red, to fit right in, whoa.
I'm breaking in, shaping up, checking out on the prison bus.
This is it, the apocalypse, whoa.

He's basically setting up his own army. He's plotting what he's going to do, getting suited up with armor, and prepping his symbol(what he will use to leave his name)

He's calling it a revolution to put it as a sense of irony.

Paint it red it referring to bloodying up the city.
