My interpretation of this song, the singer try to tell us the story of his life or reflecting his life maybe questioning about what happens in real life that we don't have to be pessimist , but try to be optimist that is why title last letter home , the first verse are things all we need in needs to be in existence like money, love, time , these three parts is as several element we as a human chasing it everyday to be exist and happy. the monotony of life. The simple, trivial happenstances of human existence, feeling insignificant, and ultimately the loneliness of being human at one time or another. life is hard, the world is cruel place to live on, nothing free in this world, so if we want to take on the world, money, love etc we have to ready to feel pain to gwt gain and we as human have a natural insting to defend and adapt to the environment and society whether they're bad or worse also always keep hope in your heart to motivate us everyday just to be survive, to be exist or had an identity or get an appreciation. keep motivate and do the best to survive in this world. . this song represent of life which is hard ..we have to survive in this world no matter what kind of wave we dealing, low wave at work or big wave at work...it still have pain to gain something, everyday we always chase the same things to make a better life, and to make that dream come true is not as easy as we think because they are pain to gain.. no free lunch .bottom line it represent of the pain in career, pain of unemployment, pain to gain money, pain to dealing with marriage,pain in health,pain in sick with fuck up society or city, pain cannot afford education, pain living in the same condition, in the same worst situation day by day.they become part of our lifes, your life, my lifes, anybody life the lyric is a methaphore of the pain you can''t describe or share with anyone, because it become a secret in you. and the lyric "im just a poor boy (it different poor in anyone perpective , it can be money,job, unemployment,failure, education or anything) " and the lyric "mama i just killed a man (feeling sad, hopeless, unworthy)" he tries to tell you the man is you / us / people... and the lyric "nothing really matter to me" means he got nothing to lose because his tired of life. he doesnt want to die and wish not being born i guess thats it |
