I really love the meaning of this song. Also, when someone is going through a heartbreak or someone who thinks that a guy/girl was their everything but ending up being nothing but mean to them. Some people fall in love with others easy, even if they want to help it they can't. Because simply, you can't help who you love. Most of the time, the other doesn't feel the same and that's where the chorus comes in. "Well, my heart just burst like a glass balloon, I let it fly too high and it shattered too soon. I was the wrong damn girl, in the wrong damn room, I broke my glass balloon, I let go of my glass balloon." I love the metaphors. She's saying her heart is fragile and she let's, and can't help, herself fall in love. And when you're in love, if they don't come out and say they don't feel the same. You have hope and positivity. So when they say they don't feel the same, it breaks. She's saying she gets hurt and falls in love easy. |

To me, this song has multiple meanings. For example, One track mind, like a goldfish, Stuck inside my petri dish. This says she has one thing on her mind. She focuses on one thing and think that. In this song, she is talking about being darker than others. I can't breathe and I can't smile, This better be worth my while. This is saying that she is sad & depressed. That there is nothing that can make her smile. When you are depressed you cry and think a lot. So there is no room for smiling. And when you are thinking and are starting to let out a cry, you can't breathe and you're trying to catch your breath but it's hard and heavy. She's saying in the second part, that if she gets over the darkness, she better have happiness and not have one thought back in the darkness. I feel numb most of the time, The lower I get the higher, I'll climb, and I will wonder why, I get dark only, To shine. Looking for the golden light, Oh, it's a reasonable sacrifice. She is saying in the chorus that she usually has no feelings. That she can't feel anything. And the sadder she gets, the more she has to try to overcome. And it could make her more noticeable. She wonders why she does this, and why it's like that. And looking for the golden light means looking for happiness. It's a reasonable sacrifice because what she goes through to get it will be worth it. Burn, Burn, Burn bright. Forgo families, forgo friends, That's how it started, and how it ends, I can't open up and cry, 'cause I've been silent all my life. Burn, burn, burn, bright is just saying she'll burn bright because she'll have a sad past longer. The second and third lines means that she'll forget her family and friends. Or doesn't have any. And it's been that way since the beginning and it'll stay that way until the end. The last line means that she can't just come out and cry or tell anyone. Because it's built up and she hasn't told anyone. it's gotten to a high point. Saying she's been silent means that she's kept everything inside. I love the last line. It's so relatable. Ooh, I get dark, Oh, and I'm in hell, I need a friend, Ooh, but I can't yell, She's saying that she gets really dark, as in depressed and has the deepest, darkest thoughts. She's saying she's in hell. By that she means that the life she's living is Hell for her. That it's all a struggle and a downward spiral. She's also saying that she needs a friend to tell things to but she just can't say it out, sounding desperate or by this, saying social anxieties or by her previous line "I've been silent all my life." I feel numb most of the time, The more I get the higher, I'll climb, and I will wonder why, I get dark only, To shine. And I'll light up the sky, Stars that burn the brightest, Fall so fast and pass you by, Puff like empty lighters, After singing half the chorus she says, she'll light up the sky because she's darker than the brightest people and it'll stay there longer and will have the most struggles because the people with the most struggles has the most beautiful and interesting stories. And the brightest people will pass you by because they're actually the dullest without an interesting past or thoughts and mind. It's saying that the brightest puff like empty lighters, that means it goes away really fast and it don't stay there like the burning flames. You get the end. And I fixed the lyrics too. Hope this helped. |
