Linkin Park – Bleed It Out Lyrics 12 years ago
it's really confusing though, the lyrics are different everywhere. even the ones on linkinpark.com are different to the ones in the alnum booklet. e.g. linkinpark.com says "Drop your words and let sloppy flow", the album booklet says "choppy words and a sloppy flow" and this site here says "Choppy words in a sloppy flow".

Linkin Park – Bleed It Out Lyrics 12 years ago
it's funny to read all your interpretations (the serious ones and the not-so-serious ones :D).

for me this song is about someone who wants to commit suicide and wants the people around him to notice.

there are several ways to kill oneself mentioned, eg. hanging yourself ("String me up from atop these roofs"), cutting your wrists ("I've opened up these scars") or shooting ("Shotgun opera, lock and load, cock it back and then watch it go").

death, to him, is omnipresent ("Hand grenade pins in every line", "Death is rolling in every verse") and he does not see the point in ignoring him and staying alive anymore ("So, why try ignoring him?" -> "him" is death as it is suggested a few lines earlier).

"Here we go for the hundredth time", "Doesn't matter how hard I try" and "Half the words don't mean a thing" for me imply that the writer sees his life as dull and empty and pointless, which could be motive for a suicide.
also, the wish to "let something shine" shows that there is not enough light (=positive things) in his life and that throwing up hangrenade pins (=making grenades explode and thus surely killing oneself) is the only way to see some light (-> death = something good).

It does not seem to be the first time he is having these problems ("the hundredth time", "... dirt dance floor again"). the previous times have left "scars" which he now has "opened up" again.

He frequently addresses other people (e.g. "Mama, help me") which hints at a lack of determination or even the presence of doubt.
He is unable to actively kill himself and therefore at one point he even orders someone else to kill him:
"Dug a trench out, laid down there" (=he dug out his grave and is ready to die);
"with a shovel up out of reach somewhere" (=but he has no way of filling the grave and thus making his death certain),
"someone pour it in" (=someone else should fill the grave and bury him)
"make it a dirt dancefloor again" (=people dancing on his grave? pretty morbid but shows that death for him is a reason to celebrate).

however, no one seems to notice or care about his struggle ("Bled myself out and no one cares"). that's why he wants to "make [them] face this" so that the others won't be able to ignore his problems anymore.

considering how graphic and dark these lyrics are, it's weird to see how fun and positive this song sounds when they play it live.
