INXS – Never Tear Us Apart Lyrics 2 years ago
I think this is about the band. Michael, at about the same time, turned down being on the cover of Rolling Stone because they did not want the whole band. Michael and Andrew were close friends as Andrew defended Michael at high school. I saw INXS twice after Michael’s death. They sing this song in remembrance of Michael.

INXS – Don't Change Lyrics 8 years ago
Many INXS songs work on a physical and spiritual level. While this is a love song, it is really a song about commitment. Something happened, but it does not affect the relationship. Compare this song to "This Time."

It also says that we can choose how we feel. Resolution of happiness/execution of bitterness. We can hold onto baggage or we can let it go.

Toad the Wet Sprocket – Throw It All Away Lyrics 12 years ago
Someone might point out that Glen Phillips is not a Christian, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't think like one. The lyrics read like something out of the gospels. "The dreams that should have died" refer to any selfish ambition.

Toad the Wet Sprocket – Dam Would Break Lyrics 12 years ago
No doubt, TTWS has alot of religious themes in many of their songs. However, I don't think this is one of them. This lyrics remind me of the feelings I have about the breakup of my marriage and my lack of ability to communicate with my ex. "my god" is not a reference to a diety, but rather an idiom for "how stupid were we." Could very well be speaking of addiction that is tearing the two apart.
