Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) – Archival Footage Lyrics | 8 years ago |
I'm pretty sure this song is about his dog. The same way that cathedral is about his dog |
Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) – with your greatest fears realized, you will not be Lyrics | 8 years ago |
anyone think he's talking about the same girl in "rally the troops! poke holes in their defenses!"? Go check out the lyrics to that song and reply what you think, because I think there's a big connection. |
Hightide Hotel – She Dreams Of Melting Rocks Lyrics | 9 years ago |
pretty clear that this is about a girlfriend who went far away for a bit. Nothing has made sense since she's been gone. The last verse pretty much sums up how he's waiting for letters from her about how her trip is going and how he wishes he enjoyed her presence more when she was there |
Seahaven – Love Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think this song is an appreciation to a step-father figure. The rest kind of explains itself. |
A Day to Remember – I Surrender Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I take this song as finally accepting (surrendering) to the thought of missing an old relationship. "So I surrender I can't forget her" It seems that this relationship always comes up "its always somethin with me and you" |
Paramore – Interlude: I'm Not Angry Anymore Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Personally, I think this is about a break-up and how Hayley isn't bitter about it anymore. I know from personal experience that you can instantly hate the person you were dating once you break up, but I feel this song is about closure and how life's too short to still be angry. She talks about how sometimes it "depends on the day", which granted, people have their mood swings, but the anger isn't taking over her life anymore like it used to. It's an uplifting song :) |
Dance Gavin Dance – The Robot With Human Hair Pt. 4 Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Personally, I think this is about falling back into drug usage. "I wear soul on my sleeve at night Searching for substance I lose control of my autonomic mind
Waiting for the impulse" At night, the singer is unstable and is looking for a quick fix to his autonomic mind. Honestly, I think this part is kind of humerus: "And I saw the rage burning in your eyes
Your thoughts intangible Follow me down, we'll get paralyzed" The singer realizes it's affecting the people around him, but kind of just tells the people around him to join him in the drug usage. As for the catchy chorus of "hang on, hang on" I see that as someone close to him trying to talk the singer out of falling into another drug phase. They're telling him "
Feed into the miracle", but he responds with "don't be fucking cynical". and the end, there's a bit of a realization that the drugs aren't fixing his problems "
losing admiration, holding onto accidents
What have I done, what have I done?" ending with "I can turn it off again", it's a bit of a plea to the person close to him, saying he's quit drugs before, he can do it again. |
Tegan and Sara – Knife Going In Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Tegan straight up said this song is about a dream that she had about her grandma killing her. |
