@[mrtreecz:9838] i've come to agree that it's "navy knot"... i think it actually goes "that we had ever clung on tight, a navy knot of arms at night" - but whatever :)

i think it's "why have we bothered re-recording this vocal?"

Robert Plant And Alison Krauss – Gone, Gone, Gone (Done Moved On) Lyrics 12 years ago
i doubt it's the true meaning, but i can't ever hear this song without thinking it's about one of the parties being disgusted by the other's love for anal sex. i don't know if the slang works the same in USA but in England "doing someone up the wrong'un" is what we makes me think of it here. sorry!

Frightened Rabbit – My Backwards Walk Lyrics 12 years ago
i made a couple of changes, including the last line and changing it to "trousers seem to love your floor", and "it's bold and dark girl can't you see?", and "blanks and gaps", and "the time rewinds to the end of May"

the suggested fourth line doesn't make sense to me, he definitely says "we"

anyway, love this song, some good wailing in it :) amazed there's no other comments!!

i agree with the comment: "i think the line is 'clung on tight and maybe not with arms at night' not 'tied a navy knot with arms at night'"

i always always thought it was "rose" (in a funky scottish accent) rather than "mouse" - like a dramatic romantic gesture. i know a cat may "catch a mouse and present it" to its owner but i don't see how the owner would then feel that the cat was someone who deserved to be with them :)

ha, i've never thought of it as a relationship song - always just seemed to me to be about living in a simpler world without all this modern crap. i sympathise, me and my gf don't have a tv

Frightened Rabbit – Keep Yourself Warm Lyrics 12 years ago
i had to join the site to add this somewhat tasteless observation - i'm fairly convinced it's right but sorry for the vulgarity......

"My point of entry is the same way
That I leave"
this line is surely alluding to the fact that he's going to leave like a bit of a c**t, right? i suppose an alternative is to suggest the "point of entry" is the pussy, and he'll be a pussy when he sneaks off in the morning.

i love love love this album, come back to it regularly. i agree with an earlier comment that he's kinda chiding the girl and himself, they're just getting drunk and high (on E) and having casual sex but in the grand scheme of things, they're looking for that special someone that'll keep them warm, and this isn't really the way to do it (but it passes the time eh)

i'd not really thought of the pills being contraceptive pills, i don't think that's right myself, but it does tie in a bit better with the reference to diseases in the next line
