I think, maybe it could represent peoples prejudgement of others, for example Particle Man could be a celebrity as shown in the line "What's he like? Its not important" Triangle man could only be well known for winning a fight against Particle Man and Person Man Person Man could be peoples views on beggars, just overlooking them such as "Who came up with person man?", showing he is seen as worthless Universe Man shares a lot of things with Christianity, as shown by "Size of the entire universe man" showing the Christian belief of one god being everything as well as, "When they meet it's happy land" perhaps referring to Jesus one day returning to judge, so maybe Universe Man could refer to how people assume Christianity is true |

You know, I think there may be something that most people miss. The monsters he's describing don't seem to be just random, for the ones that are specific to folklore and myths there is something they have in common Devils and Demons tend to enjoy messing with mortals and persuading them to give up there life The Devil persuades people to give up there souls A Harpies song is said to hypnotize people The thing all of these creatures have in common is that they have some aspect of persuading mortals to them. | What i find interesting, is that Voltaire says that his father said "Son know your enemy, as I know my son" and then he goes off and slays the dragon anyway, showing that maybe his father didn't know him. When he then goes on to talk about his son he says the same thing basically. Perhaps he's saying that with his family, the fathers don't know there children | |
