From Dictionary.com: maudlin [mawd-lin] - adjective 1. tearfully or weakly emotional; foolishly sentimental: "a maudlin story of a little orphan and her lost dog" 2. foolishly or mawkishly sentimental because of drunkenness. Just thought I would share, considering I took the time to look it up myself. This seems like a song reminiscent of the drunk and foolish days of youth, with the singer looking back on it all now that she's older. |
