| This song is clearly about drug use with one of her boyfriends. Some of the lyrics are open to a degree of creative interpretation, with "palm trees in black and white" perhaps referring to the appearance of rising smoke from a pipe or other device, and "the last thing I saw before I died" being the moment before taking a hit causes her to blackout or perhaps overdose. "Jumping" is another term for tripping/getting high, the "grin of a very old man" refers to meth mouth... there's not all that much depth here, but it's certainly a catchy song and certainly one of her best pieces of pop before Interscope came along and made everything sound like Video Games. | |
