Just a few lines I think I've figured out here. The general song I think is about the artist picturing what the world would be like if we don't change our current path. The "loaded gun". I think this is referring to the possible future government, which cannot be outmatched etc., and is a very strict lawmaker. Perhaps "loaded gun" refers to the death penalty that the government may reintroduce. The "thousand suns". This is pretty obvious. The artist is asking whether the human race shall be punished severely for their sins and bad choices over the years. "Of Our Hand", means things we have done. "Of Our Tongue", is things we have said. "Of Our Fathers", is the things our ancestors did. "Of Our Young", of course, is the things our children might do. The "broken people". Another obvious one. Naturally, under the "loaded gun", the people will be eternally afraid of the government and would be separated, broken communities. The "symphonies of blinding light". This is talking about when he "closes his eyes", possibly meaning when he dies, the gates of heaven are opening and the Angel's Symphonies are playing. "Memories in cold decay" and "Transmissions echoing away". Memories of when the world was like it is now, more peaceful and less broken. "Echoing", meaning repeating, possibly that the memories will keep coming back and never be forgotten. "Oceans Bleed Into The Sky". Referring to how in the broken society, we lose all individuality. Everything is the same. The oceans and the sky become one. |

| Adam Lambert – Better Than I Know Myself Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I believe this song is about learning to live in harmony with both a good and bad side. As the video clip shows, only Adam's bad side truly understands his good side in the end, and vice versa. When it's all over, the bad side saves the good side and Adam joins the two into one, complete, harmonious personality. | |
| Gotye – Smoke & Mirrors Lyrics | 12 years ago |

I disagree with some people. I don't think it's about his own mother. I think Gotye is "speaking" to a stripper and the line "Mother, are you watching?" Is asking the stripper what she thinks her mother would feel towards her and her career. Would she feel proud of you? I think not. :p |
