Firstly, great song. One of Avey's most intricate vocal arrangements to date in my opinion. As for my interpretation of the lyrics the theme seems to be nostalgia for a simpler time. He and his family are united through simple and universal things like the taste of good fruit in the country. This is contrasted with the realities of modern life, like damaging personal relationships and poverty. |
