Aqua – Lollipop (Candyman) Lyrics 12 years ago
This song ain't about drugs, if you think that you are giving this too much thought and not the right one. Pop songs, from the best to the worst, literature, writings and poetry ar enot LITERAL, they are suggestive.
This song is clearly about oral sex, both female and male.
Lollipop? It's a very old metaphor to talk about fellatio, not vry original in fact, you can see it in France Gall's "Les Sucettes" (I invite y'all to see it, and know what i'm talking of), or "Candy Shop", by 50 Cent. C'mon, the lollipop is a pop symbol, many times, of oral sex. It's a very used metaphor, and everyone should have realized this. It's a kinky symbol that related to oral sex. When she talks about "I wish that I was a bubblegum", she's talking about the fact she would want to receive oral sex from him.

I wish that you were my Lollipop. - I wish that I could give you oral sex.
Sweet things, I will never get enough. - I would never get tired, since i really want.
If you show me to the sugar tree,
Will you give me a soda pop for free. (I don't get to know what this could mean, really, I think it adds nothing crucial to the song)

Come with me Honey, (Oh)
I'm your sweet sugar Candyman.
Run like the wind, fly with me to Bountyland. (Oh)
Bite me, I'm yours, if you're hungry please understand.
This is the end, of the sweet sugar Candyman. (don't bite me while you give me oral sex, because this is the end if so. I Heard many men don't like it all, but i don't remember well if some others like it or not)

[Chorus]
Oh my love, I know you are my Candyman,
And oh my love, your word is my command. (Submission? BDSM song? LOL)
Oh my love, I know you are my Candyman,
And oh my love, let us fly to Bountyland.

(Oh) you are my Lollipop,
(Oh) sugar sugar top
(Oh) you are my Lollipop,
(Oh) sugar sugar top

I wish that I were a Bubble Yum,
Chewing on me baby all day long.
I will be begging for sweet delight, (It has nothing to do with it, but this reminds me of this:She found me roots of relish sweet, yeah, it's Keats' poem "La Belle Dame Sans Merci", and they are talking too about oral sex. Just for the record. I know it's kinda strange to put Keats in an Aqua analysis like this was going to be for the university or something, but...xD)
Until you say I'm yours tonight.

Come with me Honey,
I'm your sweet sugar Candyman.
Run like the wind, fly with me to Bountyland.
Bite me, I'm yours, if you're hungry please understand.
This is the end, of the sweet sugar Candyman.

[Chorus: x2]

I am the Candyman
Coming from Bountyland
I am the Candyman
Coming from Bountyland

Sugababes – Overload Lyrics 12 years ago
I never thought this song was about sex. I thought it was about the pressure of being in love or liking someone to a point, but at the same point running away from it, i can' tput it in words. But maybe that's why when I Heard this song first time i was 10 and my english didn't let me catch that "the boy's coming" was meaning sex and not just a boy approaching. :DDD

Sugababes – Virgin Sexy Lyrics 12 years ago
I can't believe no one has commented on this song. The lyrics are very interesting, you don't usually, in my opinión, hear songs like that from girl groups. But I have a question to make you if you see it: do you think the Sugababes are, in some way, supporting or udnerstanding the way the "virgin sexy" is behaving, like enticing a man then running away, being scared of sex "like Freddie", or if more the less they are critizing her, and just singing like they were her. What do you think is the point of view of this song?
Personally, I love it, and I think that they are not fully supporting her, but they somehow find it humorously and sad. They can empathize with the girl, like she goes too far when she ain't ready. It's a curious song singing on a topic which most songs don't do these days. To talk about a girl not wanting sex and not outwardly saying ugly things about her is odd these days, even more if the sugababes were understanding her by any means, or something like that.
