| I agree with all of this except for the MPD thing. I think the two voices is just referring to her dealing with dying (being very loving and getting married, then being hateful) or even bipolar disorder. | |

That doesn't really work at all. This song quite obviously fits the theme of the album, which is the singer falling in love with a girl in hospice. (hence the title) There are numerous references to cancer and marriage, neither things Anne Frank lived to experience. "Then they stuck you in machines, you came so close to dying" "Tell me when you think that we became so unhappy Wearing silver rings with nobody clapping" These could all be forgiven except for the line "Daddy was an asshole, he fucked you up Built the gears in your head, now he greases them up" Otto Frank was very close and dear to his daughters. He was the one who survived the holocaust and complied here diary. |
