I missed the sarcasm completely and took the whole song as a declaration of enjoying sex too without being labeled a slut. The last verse, "I won't play a girl to your boy no more Sugar I want mine right here right now baby Sugar I can almost reach mine, mine now Sugar " I think that's where I got it. I got the attacking misogyny part, that's a given. But I totally missed the point presented by the "self fulfilling porno queen" line, i thought the "self fulfilling" part was in reference to "getting your sugar", if you will. But I'm totally digging this new perspective on one of my favorite bikini kill songs. |
