This is a French song. Philippe Grimbert, psychoanalist, says that during this song Barbara (the singer) is sleeping at the edge of a lake until a black eagle (un "aigle noir", which is the title of the song) comes to disrupt her dreamings. She sees that black eagle as someone important in her childhood, but she won't let the listener know who it is. Some psychoanalysts think that it might be her father, who was known as a violent and who may have sexually abused her. This song is often interpreted in anti incest event. |
