Bastille – Weight of Living, Pt. II Lyrics 12 years ago
I believe that this song represents that moment in your life where you realise that, your human, you have a future and you dont know where to go. Its that moment where you suddenly see every stress and worry and you cant think. It happens to everybody at some stage!

Weight of Living is the stress people carry through life. The worry, the pressures, the expectation. The weight of living.

The first verse is very poignant. It reminds us of how when we were kids all we wanted to be was old and mature and a grown up. But now that we've reached this stage all we want is the carefree childhood we wished away. Adulthood has stress and responsibilty that we didnt expect as kids and "Suddenly you fear you've lost control" <= you cant handle it anymore. The "suddenly" here also shows that its almost an epiphany.

"Do you like the person you've become?" It makes you look at yourself. Are you happy with who you are?

The second verse describes this epiphany of realisation. "It all crept upon you... and plagued your mind" <= This, almost breakdown, happened suddenly and now you cant stop thinking of it. "Every day it passes.... Youll be old soon"<= These are the thoughts that run through your mind. Like life just goes. You've no control, no plan. Your just falling and you cant stop.

"Oh, Tell yourself this is, how its going to be" Personally, i think this can be interpreted two different ways. Negatively you could say, oh just get on with it. This is what life is so buckle up and ride it.
Alternatively you could argue that he's acting the part of your brain, that YOU tell yourself this is how it is when there is a bigger picture and you can cope.

This song is very relate-able because at some point we all have an exponential crisis or a mental breakdown where everything seems too much. Its not a bad thing! This song describes the feeling of loss and no control perfectly. It makes you think and gives you an opportunity to change.
