| I really like that theme in the album too. It's kind of like an album of rebellion, but not like a teenager rebellion. Adult rebellion. A lot of people are rebellious as teenagers, then try to grow up and be responsible in their mid-late 20's, then get tired of it, say fuck it, and have this kind of new-born rebellion. I feel like this album is them getting that stuff out of their system, and I love it. | |

My interpretation of "No one cares about the waves at the bottom of the ocean" is this: If you are at the bottom of the ocean, the waves at the top don't matter that too much to you. Since this is a pretty political song, I feel like it refers to people in Washington being so separate and disconnected from the people that they are in charge of. The real world is so far away from their own reality that they don't honestly care. |
