I know this isn't the actual meaning of the song, as it does not follow through for the whole song, but there are parts of this song that remind me of self-harming. "And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand" << These two lines are saying how they don't want anyone to see their scars as they know people wouldn't understand. "When everything's meant to be broken" << Self-hamers struggle to break free from the grasp of cutting themselves, and feel like it's meant to be this way, it's meant to be broken. "I just want you to know who I am" << At the end of the day, they want to tell someone, and they want someone to understand. They just want to break free from a self-harming world they're stuck in. "And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming" << Self-harming is often a way of expressing emotion when you can't cry. "Or the moment of truth in your lies" << Sometimes you'll hint at your true feelings, to see if someone will react. "Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive" << When you feel numb, you cut just to see if you can still feel pain. This is just bits of the song that I picked out and interpreted, and I just wanted to voice my opinion. |
