The way I see it is that ''God's sick sense of humor'' is manifested in a way that He spares the 16 year old girl from death and does not save the 18 year old girl, although she's a religious person. The first girl wanted to die and God saved her life; the second girl was enjoying life and got hit by a car - maybe Martin was just confused why God makes these kind of decisions and keeps alive the ones who want to die. In my point of view, the God gave her a second chance to find the meaning of life. And I don't think that the purpose of this song was to send off a hateful message to God. |
