I think this song is satire, from the perspective of a teenager who's been brought up on sketchy morals. 'A pistol is a lot of fun It’s just the kind of place we run Because the government Because the government wants your gun Wants your gun Whoa' Speaks about the Government taking away gun rights in the US. 'Well, if I’m old enough to die for your mistakes Let’s go' I think this is an important line, it's saying 'Your mistakes in raising me made me obsessed to guns and murder, and it's going to kill me.' 'They’re teaching me to kill Who’s teaching me to love?' Another important line, saying 'I'm being taught how to kill, but nobody teaching me how to love.' It makes sense if you listen it over a few times. |
