In my opinion the song is talking about the feeling you get when the person you love suddenly doesn't care about you anymore. I myself am into this right now. There was a person I loved more than any other one in my whole life, and when I thought the situation is getting better and better ("getting high as outer space"), suddenly she stopped talking to me and everything went away ("I never thought you'd slip away). And, after that, every time I try to talk to her, she makes me feel like if I was stalking her or something , that I'm "just like a crow chasing a butterfly". But, in spite of that, I can't deny the fact that I still love her, and the past conversations with her are something that still comfort me ("Your words still serenade me"), but then I think about the fact that she doesn't love me anymore, and maybe it was my fault because I took to much time to ask her out and she felt tired of me, "I guess I was a little too late" |
