My own personal take on this is that it definitely has to do with the depression that comes from living in a city, especially up north where you would be very confined in winter months. The other element i feel is included in this song, considering the other songs on this album, is that it is about a friend overdosing. Noticed too late, the friend is dead already, but still warm to the touch. the eyes open. The part about 'what have i done' could relate to the fact of either becoming aware of the overdose too late, or the fact that they felt responsible for the drug being taken in the first place. I think the rest, the 'leave the tv or radio on' is about the having trouble sleeping since this incident happened due to guilt. Trying to drown out the internal dialouge and find some relief. What do you think? |
