Chris Garneau – Hands on the Radio Lyrics 11 years ago
There rarely exists a perfect parting. This song depicts how between humans, emotions and lives come out of sync, leaving behind complications and trials. However, I think that this song is most applicable to death. We are never ready to say goodbye to our loved ones, they always leave too soon. Thus, the narrator hurt somebody by dying, but loved those he left behind while he/she was alive. Additionally, he loved them "under the moon" in the past tense, because now he loves them from above the moon, in heaven.

Sia – Chandelier Lyrics 11 years ago
From my point of view, Chandelier portrays an attempt to escape from a broken heart through alcohol. The way Sia sings the lyrics "I'm gonna swing from the chandelier" sounds desperate and hopeful. She wants so badly to not appear broken, but instead glorious and happy. She puts on a show, in hope that the show will truly become her life. However, the love this party girl feels from the people blowing up her phone, taking shots with her, and sleeping with her, will not replace the love that she craves from another person, and ultimately, when the sun comes up, she will have accumulated shame, and an engorged sense of emptiness.

Lykke Li – Possibility Lyrics 11 years ago
This song is about dependence, and the despair that comes with it. The speaker says, "tell me when you hear my heart stop, you're the only one that knows," implying that they cannot recognize their own heart beat without their significant other. This form of dependence is consuming, and almost ominous,I think the arrangement of the song portrays the feeling beautifully.

Aer – Water On The Moon Lyrics 11 years ago
First of all, I love the simplicity of this song. Water cannot exist on the moon in the form that we know it as on earth. Therefore the statement, water on the moon is kind of a whimsical way of saying that the "you" that he has found is too good to be true. However, he is casual in his pursuit of this girl, he "hopes to see you soon" and knows that it will come together with time. To me, this song portrays knowing that feelings are so true, that there is no need to doubt or rush the relationship.

Radiohead – Creep Lyrics 11 years ago
I think that part of being human is feeling like an outcast, but at the same time, feeling irrelevant. We have such a hard time understanding ourselves, how can other humans even begin to understand each other perfectly? How can we obtain perfection, and is it possible? We are all creeps, and some things are so beautiful, its impossible to feel worthy of them, but they enrich our lives nonetheless. These are the ideas that this song brings to my mind. I love the depth of it.

Among Savages – New York City Lyrics 12 years ago
Everyone has a New York City, some destination where we believe that we will fit in, thrive, and be inspired. However, the song warns of "illusions" and speaks of running from something. For me, the song is asking if location is relevant. If "every day is a gift" does it matter where we are? We have to make the best of the "cards that we are dealt"
"sometimes the road youre walking on is leading to nothing"
"every day is a gift and its all slipping away"

Beach House – Saltwater Lyrics 12 years ago
First of all, this song is so gorgeous. I love the references to water, and the ocean. The song opens with some sort of rainy sound, and waves, rolling, and saltwater are all incorporated in the lyrics. The water/ocean references are effective, as they lend to an understanding of the love being portrayed, how vast, powerful and undying it is.

Beach House – Turtle Island Lyrics 12 years ago
This song makes me think about time, and its effect on memory and the emotions connected to memories. Time passes, and people tend to change faster than someones perception of them. Also, how a place can resurface memories and emotion for someone. Olive is an unchanging emotion.Turtle Island is a significant place for this memory/emotion.

Beach House – Lover of Mine Lyrics 12 years ago
I've always thought that this song was about 2 lovers trading religion for love. Like worshipping each other instead of a god.
