It's Zappa at his iconoclastic best. He's stating the society in general is worthless and that those hungry freaks are looking for better and more from life. |

I agree that Mary is an allegory for the church, by way of The Virgin Mary. Also, that the cross-eyed reference is the loss of focus of same church. The fact that she is a whore is that the church takes money but does not focus on the spiritual. |

if the band says that it's about a rape/murder in San Diego, it is. the lyrics fit. and I feel that times a wasted, go. the police are letting the case go cold and they need to "go", work on the case. where are you going to tomorrow; is the criminal on the lam and running. the lies to come could either be the police covering up or the criminal lying after being apprehended or both. "and I feel it" police have gut instincts. "would you even care could either be police indifference or that of the criminal. the "mask" would be an allegory to the criminal changing appearance or identity or both. "found" would refer to the police being on to this. the dogs are cadaver dogs looking for the body. "does she smell alone" is very creepy. is she the sole body there or is it a "dump site" with other bodies there. the weather reference as others have stated could mean that crimes happen less in bad weather. I feel it is a reference to how the weather "washes away" evidence. the eyes of disarray: the police are pretty clueless. then he asks if they even care. and I feel it. others are concerned to find justice. when the dogs DO find her, got time to wait 'til tomorrow. once she's found, the police need to step back and re-evaluate the case. to find it. the missing clue to solve the case. |
