| Stevie Nicks – For What It's Worth Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Actually this particular song is about Dallas Taylor, the drummer from Crosby, Stills and Nash. He later became an interventionist and was working at the hospital where Stevie detoxed from Klonopin in 1994. He then formed a bond with Stevie, went with her on the Street Angel tour, and they had a little fling. And that's who she wrote this about, according to her. :) *Also, For What It's Worth as a title is a reference to the song by Buffalo Springfield. |

This is absolutely my favorite Mac song. And turns out y'all are wrong! I always thought it had to be about Mick or Linds, too. But nope! Big surprise here. Stevie just revealed the real meaning in a Q&A session with Jim Ladd. It's about Derek Taylor! As in, PR guy for the Beatles. He and Stevie had an affair in the late 70s that didn't last long "because he was married", according to Stevie. His marriage ended up lasting until his death in 1997 despite the affair, and he had 5 children. Stevie goes on to explain that Derek got married in 1958, when Stevie was literally "only 10", hence the "You fell in love when I was only 10" lyric. She also explained that when she said "too trusting, yes, but then women usually are", she was referencing Derek's wife Joan. Stevie was very much in love with Derek though, even after he left her. And that's what we're hearing in this very sad song. |
